The Best Album Of 2008!!!!!!!!! I just bought it today and have listened to it 3times. Loved it. If I had 10 thumbs I would throw em all up. Keep the songs coming and please don't stop making records.
The Album I love the new album. You are one of the greatest tru singer out today and please keep up the good work. And most of all you be you and do like Jay Z do "gon shake the haters off". I will love you and your music no matter what.
My favs in order Since I like the entire album, I will re-order the tracks to show my preference.
#1. Miss Independent - Love the music! My theme song for the year and next! (I Choose by India.Irie got me thru 2006 & 2007)
#2. Back To What You Know - Music and harmonies were great! I love the use of the guitar in the forefront. This is a song of a smart man and a confused woman. Maybe this song will give some men the strength to let go.
#3. So You Can Cry - I like the layers in this song. Strings, then acoustics, then harmonies.
Then it's acoustics, harmony, and strings. I kept singing 'fly' instead of 'cry'...not sure why. Write me a song about flying. You are a good friend in this song... supportive but not allowing her to prolong the agony.
#4. Closer - reminds me of MJ. Energetic song.
#5. Nobody - definitely MJ inspired.
#6. Lie To Me - if you didn't have those MJ songs in there, this would have been #4. Love the use of strings!!

#8. Why Does She Stay - love how it sounds like you're talking to your boy or even could be your mom.

Listening Love the all the tracks. You have surpassed all expectations on this album. Being honest, I love all the tracks. Just wondering about all the downloads out there. This is a way for other folks to get your music without buying the album. But I know us fans will be purchasing the album on Sept. 16th. I see another "Grammy" Mr. Smith. You are sooooo talented. This album is what I label as compulsive listening. Hope to meet you one day. Anyway I truly wish you all life's success.
You want people stealing your music Ne-Yo?! This is a great way to lose ticket sales! There are recording devices out there like audacity and other softwares people can get for free and record all of the songs you've put on your album. Why buy the album Ne-Yo...when all you need is the software to record the tracks?
NOTE THIS IS NOT MY MINDSET BECAUSE I'M A TRUE FAN, WAITING FOR THE ALBUM RELEASE BEFORE LISTENING. I'm not mad at those fans either who are deciding to listen and still buying the album. I'm just saying.
However with you being an artist trying to get money off the records and songs you make...you're slitting your throat with putting the listening party up.

I understand that there are good downloading sites that you actually have to pay money to get the songs. I'm just saying...as an artist trying to SELL records putting this listening party up, is bad for those not so true fans that STEAL Ne-Yo's music.
Not to say that there still won't be people out stealing his music off you-tube anyways. But unlike you tube, people now know the tracks on his album...therefore can now STEAL the exact ones instead of buying his CD.
